P.E. Iler Building
CLIENT: Prochaska & Associates
LOCATION: Omaha, NE
ARCHITECT: Prochaska & Associates
Lund-Ross managed the renovation of the historic P.E. Iler Building in downtown Omaha. Located in the city’s picturesque Old Market district. The six-story brick building warehouse was built over the years 1900 to 1901. Lund-Ross provided preconstruction and construction services for the large-scale renovation of the building into luxury residences.
Early work was completed on the Iler Building in 2005, including the installation of a new roof, structural repairs, and a cleaning and restoration of the historic façade. Work stopped while the architect searched for suitable replacements for the building’s historic windows. During the delay, the architect decided to pursue LEED certification for the Iler restoration. Lund-Ross added a LEED AP to the project team, and sustainable construction techniques and materials like water-conserving plumbing fixtures and low-VOC paints and sealants were incorporated into the project plans.
The project scope included the replacement of the historic windows; the installation of new infrastructure systems; the construction of a new underground parking garage; the construction of 22 luxury apartments; and the construction of a new seven-story elevator tower addition.
