Prince of Peace Catholic Church

CLIENT: Prince of Peace Catholic Church
LOCATION: Kearney, NE
ARCHITECT: RDG Planning & Design

Lund-Ross finished a new facility for the Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Kearney, Nebraska. The new 680-person capacity church was built on a four-acre site that offers the congregation room for future growth.

Lund-Ross built the 25,800-square-foot church with precast concrete, and architectural precast was used to simulate the look of natural cut stone. An elevator was installed and three staircases were built. On the lower level, restrooms, storage space, and mechanical rooms were built.

The church’s large main chapel on the ground floor features an extensive tile floor and an exposed timber truss roof. Several smaller chapels, sacristies, and a baptismal fountain were built around the main chapel. A choir performance space and recital room were also constructed. The church used construction cost savings to add upgraded finishes like stained glass windows and 30-foot murals. The new Prince of Peace Catholic Church was completed on time in August 2011.
