LDS Winter Quarters Nebraska Temple
CLIENT: The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
LOCATION: Omaha, NE
ARCHITECT: Reinhardt & Associates Architects
Lund-Ross constructed the new Winter Quarters Temple in Omaha’s Florence neighborhood. The distinctive 16,000-square-foot temple was built according to the strict guidelines of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS).
Lund-Ross monitored all materials used in for the Winter Quarters Temple to assure that all were of the highest quality. The temple’s exterior is completely covered in Bethel White granite imported from Canada. The material installation process was a top priority, and Lund-Ross carpenters installed cherry Wainscot and crown-molded solid doors to the strictest of specifications. Lund-Ross worked closely with the church’s team of artisans to arrange for their travel from Utah to Omaha to install the temple’s customary gold leaf, stained glass, and crystal elements.
Lund-Ross worked diligently to maintain the Church’s quality standards and completed the Winter Quarters Temple on time and within budget. LDS officials declared the Temple to be of the “highest quality” and invited other contractors to view the Winter Quarters Temple as an example of fine craftsmanship.
