Salem Village at Miami Heights
CLIENT: NeighborWorks Omaha
LOCATION: Omaha, NE
ARCHITECT: Holland Basham Architects
Lund-Ross built two apartment buildings at the Salem Village at Miami Heights, an affordable senior housing community in north Omaha. Salem Village was developed by NeighborWorks Omaha to promote community and economic growth in north Omaha and to provide affordable housing options for the community’s senior residents.
Phase I included the construction of a 60,000-square-foot building with 50 senior apartment units and community areas, storage facilities, and secured underground parking. Lund-Ross finished the first Salem Village building after just 10 months of construction, and the new building was occupied ahead of schedule in the fall of 2007.
During Phase II of Salem Village, Lund-Ross demolished two abandoned homes on an adjoining lot and built a second apartment building. The new 40,000-square-foot building added 27 two-bedroom apartments and more community areas, storage facilities, and secured underground parking to the affordable senior housing community. Lund-Ross completed Phase II of Salem Village at Miami Heights on schedule in November 2011.
