St. Joseph Tower Assisted Living
CLIENT: St. Joe Terrace Apartments
LOCATION: Omaha, NE
ARCHITECT: LMC Architects
Lund-Ross completed a major renovation of a St. Joseph Hospital facility in south Omaha into an assisted living community. Built in 1962, the 15-story structure originally served as a dormitory for St. Joseph Hospital nurses.
The new St. Joseph Tower Assisted Living Community houses 102 apartments, a library, theater, chapel, and post office. During construction, Lund-Ross removed and replaced almost every interior wall, and many structural changes were necessary to accommodate the new functions of the facility.
The St. Joseph facility required new elevators, which were built onto the outside of the structure. The existing shaft was converted into mechanical and electrical rooms. The confined workspace made planning and material staging extremely important.
The renovation and construction of the new St. Joseph Tower Assisted Living Community was completed by Lund-Ross on time and within the project’s specified budget.
