Morning Star Baptist Church

Lund-Ross completed the renovation of the Morning Star Baptist Church in north Omaha. The worship facility was left unfinished almost 20 years prior, and the church’s interior was saturated with soils and tall weeds.

Lund-Ross worked with the church and the project architect for many months prior to construction to provide design and value-engineering ideas. Fundraising for the Morning Star Baptist Church renovation continued through construction, and the church’s top priority was keeping the project budget in line.

Lund-Ross stabilized the existing structure with helical piers to maximize the utility of the building. A series of additions totaling 16,500 square feet were constructed to connect to the existing structure. The additions house a large sanctuary, choir loft, church offices, restrooms, and an open gathering and circulation space.

The Morning Star Baptist Church renovation was successfully completed by Lund-Ross on time and within budget. The project was honored with a 2004 Excellence in Construction Award from the Cornhusker Chapter of Associated Builders & Contractors.
